Above shown are some low polygon models of houses we've done. All of the elements are made up using low polygon planes and the windows are textures on planes. Low polygon models are mainly used in applications like games. In such an application the models have to be compact and less hungry for memory resources. Most of the details have to be achieved mainly through textures. Those models which are not important in the main gameplay are main made up with textures alone. One classic example is the trees in the very famous game Road Rash. As the games and gaming hardware become more and more advanced the polygon count of the models used are also increasing.
From the day of formation of magic wand we have been thinking of having a 3D character to represent our company. Sort of like a mascot. We were thinking of something related to magic. Of course harry potter books are a source of inspiration. We collected a lot of reference materials. Result of all was Ariel. Our own company mascot. Ariel is a wizard with a mysterious face. The model is almost 90% complete and was done mainly in Maya. We are intending to do an animation with it. So next stage will be to rig it. Here is a picture of Ariel in its making. Hoping to finish the work in a week or so.
